Fundraisers

Mars PTO is now part of the Amazon Smile program!

Don’t forget to select Mars Elementary PTO Inc. when you are shopping on Amazon this Christmas and all year through! Amazon Smile is a program where Amazon donates .5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the PTO when we are selected by their customers. All you have to do is go to Amazon Smile, select Mars Elementary PTO out of the charitable organizations (or click on the link) and .5% of what you purchase will go directly to the PTO to be used for programs at the PC, MAE and Centennial. There is no cost to you, the Amazon Smile site is the same as the regular site, and the money goes directly into the PTO bank account quarterly. Simple!

SHOP AMAZON SMILE: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/20-4852209

Share it with your family and friends, too!

Now is also a good time to make sure a Mars school is registered on your reward cards at other places you shop or eat like Giant Eagle and Red Robin.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Amy Riggio, PTO Treasurer at riggios@zoominternet.net

Our goal is to raise money for the Mars Elementary PTO while promoting health and fitness & having FUN! March for Mars will be a walk/jog-a-thon for which the students will collect pledges from friends and family. ALL students will participate in a walk/run on campus during the school day on campus during the school day on October 6 (PC), October 7 (MAE), and October 5 (CENN) at a time designated by their principals. There will be no rain date if this event is canceled due to inclement weather. All monies raised will be considered a donation to the Mars Elementary PTO. We will make every effort to work around any adverse weather conditions on “march” day. Proceeds from the event will fund PTO programs for the 2016-2017 school year, including: field trips and t-shirts, field days, holiday shops, a teacher-support fund, and special needs and projects in each elementary building. We expect this fundraiser to be a big success and the major fundraiser of the year! It includes the “opt out” program that you are used to; if you choose to contribute $30, you will have done your part to ensure we reach our annual goal and continue to fund the many important programs and activities that we sponsor.  Please note: if you “opt out” you will still receive prizes appropriate at the $30 level (see Prizes below). This is important, since the classes will be competing to win the top spot for pledge collection and the coveted pizza lunch.

We need you to collect donations from friends and family to sponsor you for March for Mars. We are asking for a flat donation, not a per-lap donation. Donations can be collected by:

  • Cash or Check: Checks can be made payable to Mars Elementary PTO
  • Online Donations: Use the following link to the website. This is a great way to reach out to those out-of-town friends and relatives and to use social media to help in your fundraising efforts. https://www.crowdrise.com/march-for-mars-2016/fundraiser/marspto

For 2016-2017, the PTO debuted the exclusive neon pink t-shirt that kids can earn with $40 in donations. There are additional prizes at higher levels, and prizes are cumulative. We hope that the kids enjoy the March as much as we have enjoyed getting it underway.

Prizes

All students will be eligible to earn the following prizes based upon the amount of donations they collect:

  • ALL PARTICIPANTS in the March (regardless of fundraising) will receive a March for Mars Statement Band in this year’s neon pink color
  • $10 – Exclusive Neon pink bandana
  • $30 – Congratulations, you have “opted out.”
  • $40 – EXCLUSIVE Neon Pink March for Mars T-shirt to be worn the day of the event
  • $75 – Mars Water Bottle
  • $150 – Mars Cinch Bag
  • $300 – Mars Under Armour Hoodie
  • The top earning class in each elementary building will earn a pizza lunch!

We can accept donations after the deadline, but canNOT guarantee the availability of prizes, so turn in your collection envelope with cash and/or checks.  Prizes will be delivered to classrooms the week of their event.
